The YM Lions alliance took 7 junior teams to the 20th Annual Bunbury Hockey Carnival over the June long weekend.  The Carnival is a wonderful opportunity for the juniors to play hockey, hone their skills and socialise with fellow players.  A huge thanks must be given to the group of parents from both Riverside and YMCC that were involved in driving, chaperoning and supervising the players at the Australind Senior High School.  Without them, we would not be able to participate in this event.  4 teams finished with a medal for their efforts, but congratulations to all players on their participation and efforts.

Lemnos Field Hockey Stadium (fondly known as Shenton\'s) hosted its official opening on 27 March 2010.  Activities included demonstration hockey games between the four co-owning clubs at various age levels.  Here are some photos of the day\'s events.

In what is becoming a tradition, the Veteran Men vs Women pre-season match introduced a couple of new \'female\' players this year.  Hugh and Bede have been unofficial coaches to the women\'s team and we repaid them with a place on the girls\' team!  Thanks for being great sports guys.

The severe hailstorm of 22 March, 2010 forced the cancellation of selection trials and left the clubrooms damaged.
